go ahead, call the night sky green

Thomas Dunn

He/him/They/them

go ahead. call

the night sky green,

what difference does it
make? when it comes,
i am fields of it. dripping
every hill with shadows,
light made from delicate
green fruit gnashing
in the mouth, bending
the horizon line. i am
dreaming of you, Al.
your piano teeth
smile and laugh
chandeliered either
halo or raincloud
above me, still
the moon pours
in rows across
wet tables—don’t—
call this a poem. it is
a phone call—something
to answer this side
or otherwise.
